Exam Overview
The telc German B1 Full Module examination assesses your ability to use German independently in everyday, professional and social situations. It is designed for learners who have reached CEFR level B1 and can understand the main points of familiar topics, communicate about everyday situations, and express experiences, plans and opinions.
The Full Module provides a comprehensive assessment of your German proficiency across Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking, together with your ability to use vocabulary and grammar appropriately.

Oral preparation time: 20 minutes. The speaking examination is usually conducted as a pair examination.
Notes:
- For your first attempt, you must register for the complete exam – which includes Written and Oral modules.
- If you pass one module but fail the other, you may retake only the failed module, provided your original complete exam attempt was taken within the previous 12 months.
- If more than 12 months have passed since your original complete exam attempt, or if you fail both modules, you must retake the complete exam.
